Saturday night was date night. We headed to Derby Street Shoppes for my husband's first time at the Legal C Bar, reservations made for 5:30. We arrived and were seated promptly. After a short time, our server took our order and brought over rolls and butter and our appetizer. We split a bowl of chowder - and if you know Legals, you know how good the chowder is! Delicious! Our entrees soon followed and though the food was good, it was not exactly as we ordered it. I ordered a Greek Salad with grilled shrimp. The grilled shrimp were perfection but the salad was lacking in the "Greek" - very little feta cheese and zero kalamata olives. But whatever, the salad was very fresh. Hubs ordered a Caesar salad with steak tips. Two steak tips came on the salad. He never complains about food, but the server walked over to see how we were doing so my husband asked how many tips typically come on the salad when ordered as such. The server said it was by weight and sent over the manager, who agreed that there should have been more meat. The tips that were on the salad and the Caesar itself were great. For dessert, we split the cheesecake, which had a raspberry sauce on it - divine. My husband is always a generous tipper; when the bill came with the salad taken off, he gave that $$ right back to the server as we did not ask or expect that to be removed.
